New York’s Gothic & Post Punk Event
If you have any interest in the Post-Punk / Goth scene here in New New York, be it facile or earnest you might have noticed us here at The Red Party. Our party has always been considered somewhat of the outcast among the outcasts, we supported a dark music scene when there was no scene to speak of and when there was finally one (you’re welcome?), we were not considered hip or cool or pentegramy enough. And yet here we are 12 Years on and we still aren't cool or hip and I say thank fucking Christ for that. That was never the intention, our goal was simple bring back great music to our city and do it with a sense of morality and good will.

Actors & Bootblacks Live
Saturday April 27th
The Red Party is excited to presents:
Actors & Bootblacks Live at Saint Vitus! with DJs Sean Templar & Matt V-Christ
about Actors:
The Jason Corbett-led outfit ACTORS are standing on the shoulders of titans with their brand of the style, and could almost be referred to as "post-post-punk". In a period where we narrowcast rather than broadcast so fans and new music-seekers can firmly plant themselves in a niche, Corbett takes swings at creating sounds and production techniques that one would not usually find in a starter package of cliché plugins and samples. Backed by a stoic yet playful backing band, the frontman shows an enthusiasm while performing and recording that often isn't seen or heard in his preferred genre.
about Bootblacks:
Since the group’s founding in 2010, Brooklyn-based Bootblacks have been enthralling audiences with their frenetic live shows from the U.S. to Europe. Their sound has been described as a balance of contradictions: both pensive and buoyant, referential and modern. Fitting, as the Bootblacks name is derived from novelist William Burroughs’ description of the dark underbelly of glitzy New York City.
